I WAS ADOPTED AS A CHILD FROM YABA. STAR ACTRESS JOKE SILVA SPEAKS.

Joke Silva reveals how she accidentally discovered she's an adopted child .
.
At the recent Annual Conference of Heritage Adoption Support and Advocacy Group (HASAAG) in Lagos, actress Joke Silva shocked many when she revealed that she was not a natural child of late lawyer, Chief E.A Silva who was the then Babajiro of Lagos and his late wife, Dr Abimbola Silva, reputed to be Nigeria’s first female medical doctor. .
.
Speaking at the event, the actress revealed that her family also kept the fact that she was adopted a secret from her, until she accidentally discovered that fact: “But I got to know years later when I wanted to travel and was looking for my passport where my mum kept it. .
.
Since she was not around, I opened the box in her absence and I saw my adoption papers. I never discussed it with my mum because I felt it was something that would hurt her, that was why, it was kept secret from me."
.
.
Before her discovery however, an older cousin had tried to let her know the fact that she was not a natural child of the Silvas’, “I remembered going out with my cousin and we met a big cousin.
.
.
She introduced me as ‘my cousin’s daughter and this is Dr Silva’s daughter.’ Then, the older cousin was like, ‘Dr. Silva ke? Se Doctor Silva bimo ni? (meaning does Dr. Silva have a child?) . .
.
I was so confused and when I got home I told my mum, ‘I met this lady that says you never had a child.’ My mum froze and she said, ‘don’t mind them, they are used to rubbish talk.’
.
.
But I had incredible memories of my amazing legal parents for allowing me to do my A Level in England and going to one of the best schools in Bournemouth.
.
.
According to the reported by kemiashefonlovehaven, the 56 years old actress said before her adoption, she lived in a foster home of the Red Cross in Yaba, Lagos.  Via: kemiashefonlovehaven

  God doesn't give trees 🌲 .
.
He gives seed
.
.
It's YOUR responsibility to plant, water and nurture the seeds He has given. .
.
Stop envisioning the forest 🌳 🌲 🌳 .
.
Don't even count the trees 🌲 🌲 .
.
Focus on the seed .
.
But here's the problem you have.
.
.
The seed ain't pretty
The seed doesn't look like the forest.
The seed takes a heck of a lotta time and attention
.
.
And doesn't even give you the returns you're looking for. .
But you'd be making a big mistake if you disrespect your seed
.
.
That blog with only 4 comments is the seed of your internationally recognized blog. #showupeveryday .
.
Your Instagram live video gets 2 viewers and your spouse is one of them.. #showupeveryday .
.
Your business barely breaks even.. #showupeveryday .
.
One day, that pitiful seed is gonna break ground and sprout something that can't be pulled out of the ground. .
.
.
It's not about the seed, it's about the ROOTS that the seed is planting in you! #showupeveryday .
.
You're looking at the seed and worrying that it ain't growing, .
.
your seed is looking at you and worrying that YOU ain't growing!
.
.
And besides, God doesn't trust forests to part time farmers

YOU WANT SKIN CANCER, BLEACH.

This chocolate 🍫 butter melaninious creamy skin, yea...i'm obsessed with it.
My skin routine is natural with fruit based extracts. I'm too confident to bleach out my lovely skin.
I was chatting with a friend yesterday and we laughed about it...see if you are not confident of yourself, that's when you bleach out your skull all in the name of being fashionable.
I didn't bleach to achieve my goals in life ...if I do say so myself, had nothing to do with my skin color.
Do you know that, inferiority complex and greed proceeds bleaching? You want to achieve beauty and success because from a jar of bleaching agent? Then you need a psychariatic evaluation. Another fall out of applying bleaching agents on your skin is the SMELL. Oh my goodness, the stench is unbearable, for men and women who bleach, I hail their spouses, how do they cope?
First with the multi color pigmentations, the green visible varicose veins, which are meant to be well tucked under the last layer of the skin but finding their way to the surface due to erosion that took place on the skin.
Young, impressionable boys and girls, out there, bleaching won't make you achieve your dreams, nah...not respect, not honour, not the favour you inherently seek in being a statistic for skin cancer.
Good morning to my beautiful NATURALLY endowed chocolatey, black, dark, brown and light skinned people. The rest of you can get yours from a sorry plastic of Caro white .

Post a pic in the comment section, If you are proud of your skin ❤❤

#OSCARSNOLONGERSOWHITE

OSCARS.

Last year, Black American actors boycotted the Oscar Academy  awards.
In fact those that attended were called names such as "sell outs" and other denigrating labels. The harsh tag #oscarsowhite trended on twitter and other social media forum for months before and after the award ceremony.

Not minding the fact that the president of the  Oscar awards is a black american woman, who stood firmly with the academy's decision on the movies and actors that got the accolades.
No black actor was nominated in major/ minor categories, yet they had good movies that broke the box office.

Jada Pinkett and Will Smith headlined the boycott as I recall perfectly.

The backlash on mainstream media was enormous to the extent that actors fees based on their races and gender was exposed and irregularities and disparity came into the public glare.

Fast forwards 2017.

The never-die spirit in the blacks are reawakened, the movie Fences, produced and directed by Denzel Washington.
He also starred in it.

Fences is the Academy's holy grail this year.

Viola Davis , also a black american actor is nominated in the best actress category alongside Denzel for best actor in this said blockbuster.

She goes down in history as the highest nominated black american female actor, with this third nomination.

Fences. Best picture category also. Five nominations so far.

This is a big win for black American cinema.

For the movie academy in general.
Fair play.
Fair playing ground.
They did their homework well.

They saw their short comings and adjusted. They rebelled, they stood for their rights.
And they earned it.

I will be watching the Oscar Academy awards this year and hopefully Whoppie Goldberg won't be the only black actor on the red carpet.

Salut!
